Brought together by heritage, family, and friendship, we set out to share the vibrant culture of Palestine as we know it best: through food. As two brothers and their childhood friend, our journey began with a craving for authenticity. At the heart of Fil is Shatta; the fermented, fiery, flavour-packed chilli condiment from Gaza. Traditional Palestinian shatta, with a contemporary twist - As Palestinians, we grew up with Shatta as a staple - right alongside olive oil, salt and pepper on the dining table. But It's more than just a spicy condiment; it's a taste of home, a tradition passed down through generations. At Fil we are carrying on that tradition in a modern way, bringing a small piece of our heritage to you, one spicy spoon at a time. |
